Thermo King presents first-ever Community Impact Award to three Americas dealerships
Thermo King Salinas
Minneapolis, April 20, 2026 – Thermo King®, the transport refrigeration brand of global climate innovator Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), and creator of hunger relief and food waste reduction program We Move Food, has presented three dealerships with its inaugural Thermo King Community Impact Award.
The award was established to celebrate Thermo King dealerships who demonstrate outstanding dedication to community, volunteerism and local leadership. It was presented to North American dealers Thermo King Salinas (California) and Thermo King of the Southeast (Florida, Mississippi, Georgia), as well as Latin American dealer Videfrigo (Brazil), at the company’s annual dealer principal meeting.
“More than 50 nominations were submitted for our first-ever Thermo King Community Impact Award, a testament to the amazing work being done to uplift our local communities through volunteerism and donations,” said Adam Wittwer, president, Thermo King Americas. “Among our top eight submissions from dealers, there were nearly 240 hours volunteered, 40+ organizations served, and monetary donations ranging between $5,000 and more than $20,000 – all making better happen.
“This demonstrates just how impactful our dealer network is – and the difference we can make thanks to the support of our 200+ Thermo King dealership locations throughout the Americas. Amplified by our We Move Food initiative, we are creating a lasting effect on our communities. In fact, our dealer and corporate teams raised an additional $32,000 to support the program’s mission of enabling access to fresh, nutritious food for communities that need it most.”

Brazil’s Videfrigo was chosen for its work in raising donations for various local groups, including schools, daycare centers, and cancer treatment centers. Concentrating on youth, they promote social well-being, risk-prevention and a promising future through collaboration with a local basketball association.
Thermo King of the Southeast recorded 160+ volunteer hours in 2025 and supports a long list of charitable organizations – from food banks, to veterans, to disadvantaged youth, to law enforcement. The dealership is a generous monetary donor and uses both business resources and employee skillsets to support organization needs.
Thermo King Salinas has volunteered employee time and donated a refrigerated trailer for a community Thanksgiving dinner dating back to 1986. What started as food donations from a small 12-foot trailer has grown to donations that fill a 28-foot Thermo King-refrigerated trailer which held enough food to feed 5,000 people at the local fairgrounds last year.
Award judging criteria included volunteer participation, charitable contributions, community partnerships, recognition, sustainability and environmental initiatives, inclusivity, employee engagement, creativity, longevity of programs, and impact made – while considering dealership size.
