Thermo King donates $10,000 to Mid-Ohio Food Collective

Donation to provide 100,000 meals to central Ohio residents in honor of Hunger Action Month.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 25, 2025 – Thermo King, a leader in sustainable transport climate control solutions and a brand of global climate innovator Trane Technologies (NYSE: TT), today announced a $10,000 donation to the Mid‑Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) through its We Move Food program. The donation is expected to support approximately 100,000 meals for food‑insecure individuals and families across 20 counties in central and eastern Ohio.

In addition to the donation, ten Thermo King employees volunteered at Mid‑Ohio Market, a community‑based grocery store run by MOFC that provides local families with fresh foods they otherwise wouldn’t be able to have.

“Supporting food banks like MOFC is central to our mission of increasing access to fresh, perishable foods in underserved communities,” said Adam Wittwer, president, Thermo King Americas. “We’re proud to mark Hunger Action Month through both financial support and hands‑on volunteerism.”

The announcement was made while Thermo King and its dealer partner, Transport Specialists Inc., participated in the IFDA (International Foodservice Distributors Association) tradeshow in Columbus.

Addressing food insecurity in Ohio

Ohio’s food insecurity rate is 15.3 percent, according to Feeding America and Axios, higher than the national average. Nearly one in five residents in Franklin County, where the MOFC is headquartered, are estimated to face food insecurity. In 2024, MOFC distributed over 84 million pounds of food and provided nearly 200,000 meals per day across its network of partner agencies.

“Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive, yet as many as one in five Ohioans may struggle with food insecurity,” said Matt Habash, president and CEO of MOFC. “Hunger is a problem that we can all solve together. Thanks to this donation, more families in our community will have healthy, nutritious food on their plates.”
