According to Whole Foods, the vans will provide recipient organizations with 20,000 pounds of rescued food per week per vehicle, donated from Whole Foods Market and surrounding grocers and retailers, which equates to 182 million meals provided over the anticipated 10-year lifetime use of each van.
“It is rewarding to be able to leverage our products, expertise and relationships to improve the lives of others. In this case, our strong partnership with our customer, Delivery Concepts, enabled the delivery of these vans to Whole Foods for the successful launch of the Nourishing our Neighborhoods program,” said Stoney Hull, general manager of Thermo King Midwest in Elkhart, Indiana.
