Celebrating Innovation: World Intellectual Property Day

WorldIPDay_1280x280.jpg

April 26 is World Intellectual Property Day, which celebrates the role that intellectual property rights play in encouraging innovation. In 2018, Thermo King was granted 60 patents globally for a variety of innovative, customer-driven solutions.

Innovation is not new to Thermo King. In 1938, Joe Numero and Fred Jones created and patented the first transport refrigeration unit – creating our company and an entire industry that improves quality of life around the world. Today, as part of Ingersoll Rand, innovation remains a core value for our company, and employees continue to use their diverse skills, talents and ideas to develop customer-driven, innovative, and imaginative solutions.

In honor of World Intellectual Property Day on April 26, we're recognizing our 2018 patent earners

Master Innovators

Included in the list of 2018 patent earners are three new Master Innovators, a designation for inventors who reach 10 or more patents. The newly-designated master innovators are:

  • Randy Burnham; Engineer, Engines and Gensets
  • Erich Lucht; Senior Engineer, Engines
  • Ashok Muralidhar; Director of Global Electrical Systems Engineering, Power Tools SBU (Ashok recently left Transport Solutions to join the Power Tools SBU)

Congratulations to all of the individuals who earned patents in 2018 for their innovative successes and contributions to Thermo King!
