Louisville, Ky., March 24, 2014 - When owner operators, fleet managers and media gather in Louisville this March for the 2014 Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS), Thermo King will be available to discuss changes in the industry. From technology innovations that impact transport refrigeration specifically, to strategies and solutions for improving operational efficiency, Thermo King is set to deliver on its customer promise: "Thermo King has you covered."

Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control systems for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, will feature four customer-driven solutions and services at the show, including:

  • The all new Precedent™ S-700 - the only deep frozen unit with available shore power
  • TriPac™ Evolution Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) - industry - leading performance and reliability with lowest fuel and maintenance costs
  • TracKing™ Telematics - a trailer tracking system using real time and historical data to give transporters peace of mind with end-to-end visibility of refrigerated assets in transit
  • The all new X430P™ Compressor - an industry-leading compressor solution offering unrivaled reliability and durability

The Precedent S-700 and X430P Compressor will be unveiled for the first time at MATS and all four solutions will be on display at the Thermo King Booth #18177. Experts from Thermo King will also be on-site and available for interviews to discuss technology issues and trends.

Precedent S-700

The Precedent S-700 is the only deep frozen refrigeration unit with shore power capabilities. Featuring industry-leading pull-down, the S-700 is an ideal solution for customers moving temperature sensitive products like pharmaceuticals, fresh seafood or other deep freeze loads through hot climates.

A member of the Precedent family, the S-700 features a completely new platform for the trailer market designed to be fully compliant with the new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier IV final regulations without the addition of diesel particulate filters (DPF) or engine emissions systems (EES).

Customer Testimonial - Blue Bell Creameries

Texas-based Blue Bell Creameries is available in more than 20 states and ranks as one of the top three, best-selling ice creams in the country. The creamery has been testing the Precedent S-700 unit since August 2013, hauling product at -18 F. Currently, the unit has run without issues and has traveled as far as 700 miles per trip.

"We like the reliability of the Precedent S-700 best, as we transport our ice cream at -18 F to maintain quality. The unit has always maintained our desired temperature, no matter the ambient temperature. We've had zero issues over the past seven months, which is key to keeping our product on the road and in stores," Steven Glaesmann, trailer supervisor for Blue Bell.

TriPac Evolution APU

The TriPac Evolution APU delivers unrivaled performance, lowers overall truck fuel consumption and reduces emissions while providing driver comfort and ease of use. It meets EPA Tier IV emission requirements while leveraging new patented technology to drive unit performance, efficiency and user productivity.

The updated TriPac Evolution is the industry's only solution featuring software that can be customized to enhance the customer's operating profile. Thermo King developed this feature in response to customer feedback. The APU also features an extended maintenance interval of 2,000 hours, an updated flash-loadable control system and improved service access for easier maintenance.

TracKing Telematics

TracKing is a dynamic, web-enabled trailer tracking system that provides end-to-end visibility of refrigerated assets over the road, on rail cars and in the yard. Operating off an intelligent embedded wireless communication platform, it is a flexible and comprehensive solution delivering real time and historical temperature and fleet information.

TracKing provides fleet owners the tools to protect their refrigerated cargo, improve their asset utilization and manage their operating costs.

X430P Compressor

The X430P compressor was engineered to exceed industry standards for fuel efficiency and longevity. The X430P uses integrated oil filters which reduce leaks and installation time, and the compressor's industry leading shaft seal design results in 85 percent improved reliability.

Thermo King compressors offer unrivaled reliability and durability. They are built to run longer, more efficiently and deliver faster pull-down time.
